San Antonio, TX, March 12, 2024 – The H. E. Butt Foundation is pleased to announce a two-year Public Policy Fellowship position that will begin July 1, 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent master’s level graduate seeking hands-on experience impacting state level policy through research, education, and networking. The Fellow will work closely with an experienced mentor at the Foundation and participate in Hogg Foundation’s Policy Academy. The Fellowship includes high-capacity experiences in networking and direct contact with legislators, their staff members, various coalitions, research organizations, and state agency staffers. Located in the San Antonio office of the H. E. Butt Foundation, the position requires frequent travel to Austin.
Policy is an important component in changing systems that directly impact the well-being of Texans, and policy concentrations will be aligned with the values of the H. E. Butt Foundation. Working closely with the mentor, the Policy Fellow will develop their own strengths, skills, and relationships upon which future policy effectiveness will flourish.
The ideal candidate will have completed a graduate degree in the past twenty-four months in social work, law, public policy, public health, or other graduate program that has a policy emphasis.
“Mental health issues are growing at epidemic proportions. We hope our investments will be catalytic.”
David Rogers, President and CEO of the H. E. Butt Foundation
