TRANSCRIPT:

As a young businessman in Oklahoma City’s oil industry, my friend Keith Miller took both work and faith seriously. So when his church asked him to lead a Bible class, it took him hours to prepare.

As it happened, legendary OU football coach Bud Wilkinson was in class the Sunday when Keith presented that first talk. Leave it to Wilkinson to know just what to say. “Keith, anybody who makes it look that easy has put a lot of time into it. I’ll be back.”

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Any skilled person will tell you that a moment well done caps a mountain of labor. And that’s as it should be. In this world, every worthwhile destination demands a real journey—in the high calling of our daily work.

The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast desert.

(Deut. 2:7a)
