Mark your calendars for October 3, 11:00 a.m.–2 p.m., and RSVP today to lock in your seat at the table for this year’s Know Your Neighbor Luncheon.
This year’s topic: Knowing Our Past to Shape Our Future. Henry Cisneros and Sister Pearl Ceasar are both rooted in the story of San Antonio—it’s a story they’ve lived and a story they’ve shaped through years of community-based work.
As the former secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and mayor of San Antonio, Cisneros brings a wealth of both local and national perspective. As a longtime organizer and the leader of Project QUEST, Sister Pearl brings hard-won lessons from the work of pulling together community members to address neighborhood needs.
They’ll share their stories with us. They’ll show us how we’re all connected to our city’s past, and to the changes that have come to San Antonio in recent decades. They’ll invite us into the role we all can play in the new story of San Antonio that is being formed today.
If you’ve come before, you’ll know you won’t just listen. This event is as much about the tables as it is about the speakers. We’ll assign seats, giving you a chance to encounter new folks and perspectives.
We believe San Antonio can only flourish if we build bridges across our economic and cultural divides.
