What’s happening around the Foundation…

HONORING DAYNA DELAVERGNE

Longtime employee Dayna DeLaVergne retired in late 2016 after a 38-year career with H-E-B and The H. E. Butt Foundation. DeLaVergne worked a variety of positions during her career, including assisting Dwight Lacy with the Leadership Forums, establishing the IT department, and managing the development of an online registration system for guests.

NEW WEATHER STATION

The Texas Water Development Board recently installed a weather station at the H. E. Butt Foundation Camps that will record Canyon precipitation, wind, and temperature data. The “HEBFF Camps” station is one of 14 stations in the Board’s TexMesonet network, used to improve forecasting statewide. Current weather conditions, radar, and other reports from the weather station may be viewed at www.texmesonet.org.

SHARE YOUR CANYON PHOTOS

Everyone has a crazy camp story or a magical moment from Laity Lodge. And there is no joy quite like swapping Canyon stories with others—whether your photo album includes driving in the river to a Foundation Camp, swinging on Goliath at LLYC, quietly taking in the artwork at the Cody Center, square dancing with the family at Laity Lodge Family Camp, or diving to the bottom of Blue Hole. Help us spread the joy by sharing your best photos with us. Send your pictures to echoes@hebfdn.org and you might just be featured in the next issue of Echoes.
