Summer is just around the corner, and we cannot wait to see you at camp soon! We have been preparing all year for what we believe is going to be an amazing summer of camping in the Frio Canyon. This includes continual monitoring of COVID-19 activity, the formulation of healthcare plans, and regular testing of all camp staff.

Many of our families interact with both LLFC and LLYC, which is why we want to make you aware of the differing protocols for each program. We are not requiring LLFC camper families to provide proof of a negative COVID test result prior to arriving at camp. However, we are requiring pre-arrival testing for all LLYC campers and believe this is the most effective tool available to help ensure we have a COVID-free camp experience this summer.

The primary reason for this different requirement for LLFC and LLYC guests is due to the nature of lodging and programming at the respective camp facilities. The guest families at LLFC utilize family-specific lodging units, while campers at LLYC are arriving at camp from various geographic areas and utilizing shared lodging units.

LLYC Camper COVID-19 Testing Protocol

COVID-19 tests are to be administered no sooner than 3 days prior to arrival at camp. At-home Antigen tests and clinic-based PCR tests are both acceptable; however, PCR tests usually take a couple of days to receive results. Test results will be collected by LLYC team members upon arrival.

Campers who test at home are asked to provide a photo/screenshot or a printout showing the following:

  • Actual test result itself (test with obvious line or lines)
  • Test timestamp (date and time)
  • Parent photo ID

Campers who test in a clinical setting are asked to provide the following:

  • Photo/screenshot or a printout showing test result, name, and date

We are also asking campers to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms prior to attending camp.
